THIRTEEN DELTA BOUTIQUE CYBERSECURITY START THE CONVERSATION
THE FIRST RESPONDER WORKSHOP

An incident response workshop for the people who decide and the people who act.

Panic is not a plan. The First Responder Workshop is a field-tested playbook for the first hours of a breach.

One full day for executives, managers and IT or security staff together. We walk through real cases from the field, then run a live four-round tabletop exercise on your own plans. We recommend running it on-site; remote is possible by arrangement. In English or Dutch. Every participant receives a digital certificate of attendance.

What you learn

Work efficiently under fire

The moves that matter in the first hours, and the order to make them.

See the attack coming

How modern attacks actually unfold, so you spot the warning signs before the damage is done.

Know the process inside out

How a response runs end to end: who to call, and what they'll need.

HOW THE DAY RUNS

From intake call to take-aways.

Intake call

We agree the content and the outcome you want, and who's in the room.

Your location

A room with a screen we can present on, catering and enough space for the group exercises.

Real cases

An opening on the threat landscape, then nine modules taught from real incidents.

The tabletop

One fictional incident over four rounds, on your own incident response and crisis plans. Leaders own the decisions and the words; IT owns the triage and the evidence.

Debrief

Every gap becomes an improvement with an owner and a date.

Take-aways

Materials to help you prepare for a breach, including a comprehensive incident response plan template.

READINESS CHECK

Your incident response plans, stress-tested in a tabletop exercise.

Bring your current incident response and crisis plans. The tabletop runs on them, so you find out where they hold and where they break before a real incident does.

  • Every round runs on BOB, the Dutch crisis-team model: picture, judgement, decision
  • You work against the NIS2 reporting clock: 24 hours, 72 hours, one month
  • Built for groups of up to 8; larger groups up to 16 are possible by arrangement. We confirm the final number a week before
  • Practice in the incident handling and crisis management that the Cyberbeveiligingswet (NIS2) asks of you

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Is the First Responder Workshop NIS2 preparation?

It helps, in a practical way: you rehearse incident handling, crisis management and the NIS2 reporting deadlines on your own plans. It is not an audit, and we issue no compliance statement. What the law asks of executive board members is explained on the Board & Executive Workshop page.

What does the First Responder Workshop cover?

We open with the threat landscape, then work through nine modules: how an attack unfolds; one real incident, hour by hour; the dos and don'ts of the first hours; initial triage; evidence gathering; investigation and communication, including the NIS2 reporting deadlines; decision-making under pressure; case closure; and building your own crisis plan from the open NCSC, CISA and BSI frameworks. The day closes with a live four-round tabletop exercise.

What happens in a cyber tabletop exercise?

A tabletop exercise, also called a cyber crisis exercise, is a rehearsal of a cyber incident, talked through around a table. In this workshop one fictional incident unfolds over four rounds, built on a real ransomware case: a quiet alert, a warning from outside, the attack itself, then the public pressure. The information arrives the way it does in a real breach, in pieces and rarely when you want it. Each round you make the calls for your own organisation, using your own plans. If the debrief shows gaps that call for structural work, Capability Building picks them up.

OUR OTHER WORKSHOP

The Board & Executive Workshop.

A separate two-hour workshop for your board or leadership team: the First Responder Workshop, condensed and high-level. Your board learns to weigh cyber risk and approve the right measures, and we explain what the Cyberbeveiligingswet (NIS2) asks of executive board members. Where you can, we still recommend the full day, with your executives and board members in the room: that's where they see what handling a breach really takes.
